Keith Haring’s Growing Suite, 1988

The Growing Suite, also known as the Growing Portfolio, consists of five color screenprints. Figures overlap, branch and join until several bodies become one larger form. Repeated limbs, circular shapes and movement lines give each composition a distinct rhythm.

The imagery suggests growth through transformation and human connection. Across the five compositions, Haring moves from relatively simple arrangements to densely interlocking forms, using changes in color and outline to define their relationships.

Growing Suite Editions and Signatures

Numbered editions and artist’s proofs

The regular edition comprises 100 numbered impressions of each composition, with 15 artist’s proofs also documented. Record the complete inscription, including any AP, TP or other designation, so the specific impression can be identified.

Color-variant trial proofs

Growing also includes 40 documented color-variant trial proofs. These explore alternative palettes and carry TP inscriptions. If your colors differ from the examples above, send a clear overall photograph and a close-up of the full inscription so the version can be reviewed.

Keith Haring’s signature

Documented edition examples are signed and dated by Haring in pencil. Include close-ups of the signature, date and numbering, together with any embossed marks or publisher’s stamps visible on the front or reverse.

Keith Haring Growing Suite Screenprint FAQs

Can I sell one Growing screenprint?

Yes. Our gallery considers individual compositions as well as complete portfolios and documented proofs. Send photographs and the edition details for the work you own.

Why are the colors of my Growing screenprint different?

The series includes trial proofs in alternative color combinations. The palette, proof inscription and supporting documentation help identify the version. A color difference alone does not establish authenticity.

Are Growing Suite screenprints signed?

Documented 1988 edition examples carry Haring’s pencil signature, date and edition inscription. Include clear photographs of these markings with your submission.

What should I send for a complete Growing Suite?

Send an overall image of each of the five compositions and close-ups of every signature and edition inscription. Include any title page, portfolio materials, invoices or earlier gallery documentation.
