Keith Haring Blueprint Drawings: All 17 Screenprints
The Blueprint Drawings is a portfolio of 17 large-scale screenprints published in 1990. The compositions revisit Sumi ink drawings Haring made on vellum between December 1980 and January 1981. Working from photostats of those early drawings, Haring returned to scenes filled with figures, dogs, pyramids and flying saucers. The black-and-white imagery often unfolds across several panels within one composition.

Blueprint Drawings Editions and Signatures
The regular numbered edition comprises 33 of each composition, with 5 artist’s proofs in addition. Documented numbered examples are signed and dated by Keith Haring in pencil and carry edition numbering. Dedicated proof impressions are also recorded, so include the complete inscription when submitting your artwork.
Photograph the signature, date, number, embossed marks and any inscriptions, along with the full artwork and reverse. Gallery labels, original invoices and earlier descriptions can help document ownership and identify the specific composition.
A complete portfolio contains all 17 different screenprints. Documented sets include a justification page and an original wooden portfolio box bearing Haring’s name, the title and date. Include photographs of any accompanying materials and the numbering on each sheet.

Blueprint Drawings Screenprint FAQs
Can I sell one Blueprint Drawings screenprint?
Yes. Our gallery considers individual compositions as well as complete portfolios. Send a photograph of the whole image and close-ups of the signature and edition details so we can identify your screenprint.
Are these hand-drawn works from 1980–81?
The 1990 Blueprint Drawings portfolio consists of editioned screenprints based on Haring’s earlier ink drawings. The original Sumi ink drawings and the later screenprint edition have different production histories. Include the medium, dimensions and inscriptions in your inquiry.
Why are they called The Blueprint Drawings?
Haring made blueprint copies of the early ink drawings and exhibited the drawings in New York in 1981. Photostats preserved the compositions and later provided the basis for the black-and-white screenprints issued in 1990.
Can you review a framed screenprint?
Yes. Start with photographs through the glazing and any accessible labels on the back. Explain whether your measurements refer to the frame, visible image or full sheet.
